    KTBL agricultural data collection

The Association for Technology and Structures in Agriculture (KTBL) is a registered German association whose members represent various agricultural sectors including science, industry, administration and consulting. Its aim is to gather and analyse data tailored specifically to an agricultural target group. To this end it supports the development of agricultural engineering and the sharing of knowledge. The KTBL is funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. The KTBL machinery database (MaKost) contains information about 2000 agricultural machines and is regularly updated. Repair costs include costs for materials and labour, maintenance and servicing as well as the replacement of wear parts. Repair costs are average values based on the total service life of the machine. If a machine is not used until the end of its life (12 years or 10,000 hours), the values can be adjusted by applying the KTBL conversion factors.

Employee costs are included in the calculations – globally adopted. Assumed employee costs: employee costs vary from country to country. Industry average.

The diesel savings and increase in area output are derived from DLG Test 7096. Assumed diesel price: 1,80 €/l.

The BLE method is used to calculate the energy-saving impact of specific measures and the resulting potential CO2 reduction. (BLE: German Federal Office for Agriculture and Food)
